About Lukas Meier

I am Lukas Meier, a visual artist and designer working with film, projection, animation and graphic design. Under the name Lumei, I bring together independent artistic research and commissioned visual work.

My artistic practice explores the relationship between images, places and perception. Mirroring and projection are recurring methods: they reveal patterns, unsettle familiar spatial relationships and create temporary connections between an image and its surroundings.

From Above as Below to Guerilla Mapping and music videos, my projects move between observation, transformation and collaboration. I am interested in what happens when an image becomes more than a representation of a place — when it changes how we experience it.
